A Ludington native, Julie began her involvement in gymnastics in 1970 and eventually was a member of the Ludington Championship Gymnastics Team. Julie held multiple state championship event titles including tumbling, floor and vault. Julie has held multiple Head Coaching positions through the years in both Michigan and Illinois. Her favorite gymnastics event is tumbling/floor exercise and vaulting. She likes teaching kids gymnastics because the reward is so worth it when they learn new skills... "I love to see their expressions when they achieve something and watch their confidence grow! It's just such a great atmosphere. Couldn't see myself doing anything else. I just simply love the sport!" We are proud to have Julie on our team!

It takes lots of people to make Flipstar run smoothly. These are a few of our longstanding coaches who have made a huge impact on the success of Flipstar Gymnastics' track record of keeping kids happy, fit and learning. There are countless other coaches and helpers not listed here who assist us when they find time in their busy schedules. We would like to thank those people - you always have a family in Flipstar!

Her diverse clinical experience includes teaching and treatment in traditional hospital and out-patient clinic settings.  ANDREA SHOOP: Recreational Coach

Having spent eight years as a competitive gymnast at Flipstar, Andrea
expressed  an interest very early in learning to coach. She spent two years
with us as an apprentice coach and is now officially a Flipstar Coach!
With a natural aptitude for communication and a good work ethic, she
was the perfect candidate to add to our staff. Andrea is currently studying to get her Associates Degree in Science at West Shore Community College and hopes to be a Physical Therapist one day.

Andrea loves meeting new kids and getting to know them while coaching
them.  “It is very rewarding to watch the kids learn new skills, improve their
skills and gain greater self esteem and confidence. I have always gravitated
towards kids so this is almost the perfect job using my personal experience
in the sport of gymnastics!”
